(left) this song is an excellent way of describing the problems many western fans have, due to the nature of Japanese Anime fan culture!
National cinema is defined as being a cinema of a nation and a celebration of its culture. However this term can be problematic, as it creates borders, causing it to seem inaccessible to those not familiar with the country or its culture. Technology, namely the internet has changed the way people consume media and made it possible to connect on a global scale that previously was not possible. This has added to the breaking down the borders, boundaries and language barriers of national film and goes into the construction of a new globalized transnational cinema.
